New Year, New Day
OK, we are trying out a new system. These pics are on flickr.com. Iacopellis and chickens mostly. Click on the picture to go to the album. There is an option to view as a slideshow on the right side of the flickr page. The image quality is great.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Here is a selection of pics from December which include foiled attempts at a family Christmas portrait, Nina's Solstice celebration at her preschool, Christmas morning, Christmas cat, Christmas chickens, our day-after trip to Boston and the aquarium and some other assorted images. Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday. Note the lack of snow at our latitude ... very strange indeed. We did have a light dusting today. I can't believe I'm saying this but a few inches at this point would be down right nice.

Oh, I fixed that glitch that would send you to the Lola page anytime you clicked on "home". Sorry about that!

The Girls Reluctantly Pose
Don't have an album with this one -- just this pic of the girls. Merry Christmas.
Fall In Ashfield
OK it has been entirely too long. I'm sorry. Here is a sampling of most of the fall season. I did not take many pics. Donnie took some. I'll try to do better now that we are into the Holidays. It's tough without the use of both of my hands!

The chickens are much bigger now. I'll try to document them tomorrow. And they have moved to the barn. Lola is standing with ease now and banging on the piano. Must get a pic of that. The weather has been mild but we are braced for the winter none-the-less.

Not much else to report. Enjoy the pics. -t

Nina, Cooper, Lola and Jade
Nina got to see Cooper and meet Jade while we were in New Orleans. Jade was three weeks old in these pictures and Lola was about two months. There are not many pics here. A few are of a very hot day in the park and a couple of the girls lounging on the couch.

Nina and Her Favorite Guys
Nina got to have lunch at Juan's Flying Burrito with her true love Eli, his brother Sam and little sister Ruby... oh and their parents Sara and Eric were there too. These guys are Nina's very first buddies. She met them at her Mimi's house when she was just 1 year old. Even with all this time apart, thanks to Katrina, they don't forget each other.

Jazz Fest 2006
It was a special year, no doubt. These are pics with Jeremy, Valerie and Lucy Lyons. Jeremy's band is called Jeremy Lyons and the Deltabilly Boys. They used to be our neighbors on Solomon Street, now they live in Cambridge, MA. Jeremy used to practice on his front stoop while the kids played. We miss that. Click here.

Norton Hill Road
Here are some pix of the new house. It is a mix of pix from today and some from back in November that show the yard and the barn. Nina helped by running around and standing in all the pictures. We have alot of work to do but it is mostly aethetic as the house is in very good shape. I do wish we could afford to turn the heat up... I'm freezing my butt off. --t Click here to see them.

Our latest trip to New Orleans
Nina and her mommy and her grandma all took a two week trip to New Orleans in November. We went down to pack up the house and work out details of the reconstruction. It was a tough trip. We took the train down and we were delayed at every juncture both down and back. It was cold and rainy most of the time we were in NOLA and of coarse we had no heat, electricity or hot water in the house. We did have a generator but that was stolen after a few days. We managed to borrow another from a very kind sole and locked that puppy up in the back of the house. We worked tirelessly the entire time and got packed up in time for the big truck to take our stuff up North. After that we slept on a blow up mattress with camp stove and space heaters until it was time to come back. As was parr for the corse, our train was canceled and we had to reroute with a 12 hour layover in Chicago. So we rolled with it and had a great day in the Windy City regardless of our state of unbathedness and general fatigue. Nina was awesome as usual and we accomplished all we set out to do. Thank you grandma for all you help and hard work! --t See the pix.

The First Snow in Ashfield
The winter has begun here in Ashfield. We had a beautiful week prior that gave us one last glimpse of what will be again in Spring, but then the force of winter made itself known on Thanksgiving day. Luckily both Nina and Blue seem very excited about it all and Donnie is willing to indulge them. As for me, I plan on buying some canned goods and staying indoors until Spring. --t

Lakeview Levee Break
These are pictures taken over 2 days right around the 10th Street Canal levee break. There are pictures of empty lots where houses used to be. One lot right in front of the levee is gouged out to create a pond where ducks now peacefully reside. There are houses moved off their foundations hundreds of yards, now resting in the middle of the street. There are cars in trees. The power of it is astounding. --t

Damage on Solomon Street
We don't want to dwell on the destruction, but many people have expressed interest. It is hard to imagine what it's like. I've also put them in progression of the demolision as we gutted the houses over 2 weeks.

These are of the first floor of the yellow house. We just moved into. It is the apt and our office space. This was the worst of the 3 houses. It had 5'8" of water. Pretty much everything was destroyed. What these pictures cannot convey is the smell. Without a resperator you could not last in there for more than a few seconds.

These are of the purple and green houses. These houses are both raised up 2 feet or more and took about 4 feet of water.
click here for purple and green houses

These are not just houses. The green house is where Nina went everyday to stay with Judy whose been babysitting her for over a year. Tom, who helped me renovate the houses in Judy's husband. They are dear friends. James lived in the purple house. He is family. He ushered me down the aisle and is Nina's Godfather. Millie lived in the yellow house. We did not know her long but she was already part of the family. So we've lost a little more than stuff in this disaster. But ours is just one story in a million now in New Orleans. --t

Dad
I spent some time traveling around the world, meeting Dad in different places. I took pictures of him when I could. That's what most of these pictures I found are. You'll find more pictures of Dad in the Wedding section of this page, if you scroll down a bit.

One thing I remember about these days was that I felt like I was photographing a wild cat in his natural environment. The only way to see the real Dad was to see him traveling around the world, blending in everywhere and putting deals together with the locals.

And he always had a surprise in store. I never knew in advance what it might be. Sometimes it was a skill or a contact or some bit of knowledge. Whatever it was, it was always amazing. - Donnie

The Wedding
FINALLY!! Let it be known that this past year was both the longest and shortest year of my life. So much has happened and yet it flew by in a flash. I have finally gotten through the task of posting these pictures. There are hundreds of them so I have broken them into chapters. It is more of a documentary of the day.
